How this works
- Two ways to build an estimate: paste an Azure id and Pull, or switch to Manual and add lines yourself.
- Azure: type one Epic, Feature Request, or Work Request number. You do not pick the type. A Work Request is one priced line. A Feature Request pulls its child Work Requests. An Epic pulls those Feature Requests and the Work Requests under them. Only Work Requests are priced.
- Rates come from the shared rate card (Edit Rates). Each Work Request is matched to a team by Azure area path. A matching tag can set a different hourly rate. A matching flat tag uses that flat amount instead of hours. If nothing matches, the Default Hourly Rate is used.
- Hourly lines: hours come from Azure Effort. Amount is hours × rate. Flat lines have no hours. If a Work Request has two tags that conflict (two flats, or two different hourlies), that line is left unpriced so you can fix it.
- After a pull, Team lists only the teams on that id. If more than one team is on it, you can estimate all of them or just some. Bill To comes from the Business Area on the id you typed.
- Manual: choose a team, then an hourly or flat rate for that team, then a business area. Type hours for hourly. Add line to put more than one item on the same estimate. No Azure.
- Status is Azure State on the line table only, not on the PDF. Remove drops a line you do not want priced (already closed or paid, for example). Download PDF for the A&M estimate. This session stays in this browser. Reprocess pulls an Azure id again or reopens a Manual estimate.
